concert

Yesterday, we went to Four Seasons Centre for the Performing Arts to listen to a fantastic concert. As usual, the weather was not good. It was cloudy, and there were snow flurries at noon. However, we were all excited and waited patiently untill to enter the 2nd floor amphitheatre. We sat on wide terraces overlooking the show. The music was excellent. A man played a violin and a woman played a cello. At the same time, two dancers were dancing modern ballet. The dancers' bodies were soft and flexible. They seemed to express the feelings of the people listening to the music. We also visited a five-star hotel that was converted into a student hostel, which has a wonderful meal plan, cafeteria, and meeting room. This reminded me of my university dormitory. I was in an 8-person room with only one table to study and eat at. Though the conditions were hard, this was the happiest time of my time.

My first week at the new place

We moved into the new building this week. I came to the new classroom today. It was not easy for me to find the way to the elevator. I remembered it was on fourth floor, but I didn't know which room it was. I was confused and walked around the floor to look for the teacher. Fortunately, and there was a sign on the door. I entered and then found my classroom. "It's too small a room for so many students,"I thought. However, there are a lot of things were not convenience, but I thought they would be modified. This is the new place we will study in.

We are going to OSC on Nev. 19. I found the Science Arcade on level 6 meight be an amazing place. There are many puzzles, games, illusions, and challenges. In the same level, there's a Living Earth where we can touch a tornado or explore a cave and learn the knoledge about Rain Forest environment. I also want to the Communication Hall to have a test to realize how my body deals with stress using a biofeedback monitor. The others I want to were Body World, Human body. There are so many exciting places I want to explode.

I was looking forward tomorrow's trip. I had never been to the concert for a long tme. I wanted to appreciate the songs though I believe some of them are unfamiliar for me. I also long to visit the underground city. I have few chances to visit downtown for I must look after my daughter and I thought downtown was too far away from my house. It takes an hour to get there, so I always give up. Tomorrow, I have the chance to go there, and this time the weather will not affect my feeling again. Christmas is coming. I could pick up some presents for my family. There are many shops there. I am going to choose some toys for my daughter.

The ideal job for me is to be a teacher who teaches teenagers. A teacher should have a bachelor degree and a licence. She/he should have the ability to communicate clearly to children. Sometimes, the teacher could do some research, but her/his main task is to transfer the knowledge. A teacher is a respected person. The benefits are the best with two vacations during winter and summer. The teacher of teenagers understand the change of knows the change of puberty, even more than their parents. Teenagers' parents are worried and do not realize how to manage them. If I am a teacher with many years' experience, I will know how to treat and teach them, and my child too.

Friends

Today Jade, my classmate, told us a true story about the friendship of a Chinese boy and some American soldiers. The story is impressive. The friendship lasted over 30 years. The soldiers made friends with Chi, the Chinese boy, because of his smiles during the miserable war. During the war, many people died. The people were dispressed, so they needed to see smiles and happiness. The boy made the soldiers happy, and they endured the difficult time.

Riverdale Farm

I did not enjoy the field trip because of the rain. The weather was very bad. It was cold and wet. We could not look around the whole farm. I only saw the turkeys and horses. I thought there were a lot of animals, but I could not see them. But I would like to recommend my friends to visit this farm. The farm is a good place to play with kids. The children may learn the things about the animals such as what they eat, how to feed them, and what their features are.
Allen Garden was another place we saw. I thought the garden was wonderful. There were many kinds of beautiful flowers from all over the world!
